Danny Cortes, the owner, has lived in this valley long enough to know that a chimney company is only as good as the person holding the brush on a Tuesday afternoon in July when the attic is 120 degrees. That’s why he’s built a crew that shows up on time, respects your floors, and explains what they found in plain English. We’re neighbors first, technicians second, and we treat your fireplace the way we’d treat our own, because half of us live within fifteen minutes of you.

Our People

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys for nine years, the last four with Kindling Chimney Henderson. He’s CSIA-certified and has a particular knack for spotting early-stage flue damage that less experienced eyes walk right past. Marcus also handles the trickier Level 2 inspections that involve running cameras up older flues in Green Valley and Anthem homes built when code requirements were looser than they are today. He’s the guy on our team who keeps a digital caliper in his pocket at all times, because he’d rather measure clearances than guess at them. Off the clock, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles and has a garage in Whitney Ranch that’s cleaner than most kitchens.

Olivia R., Senior Installer

Olivia runs our repair and liner work, and she’s the reason we can honestly say a repair is built to last rather than patched to hold. She’s certified on HeatShield and DuraFlex systems and has rebuilt more damaged fireboxes than anyone else in our company. Olivia is our specialist on masonry fireplace repair in the older neighborhoods south of Lake Mead Parkway, where shifting desert clay has a habit of putting hairline cracks in chimney crowns. She keeps a notebook in her truck with measurements from every job she’s ever done, a habit she picked up from her first mentor, who taught her that good work is documented work. Olivia lives in Henderson with two rescue greyhounds who have zero interest in fireplaces.

Renee D., Service Coordinator

She schedules every sweep and inspection, coordinates our Level 2 camera work, and keeps the appointment calendar moving without double-booking crews or leaving anyone waiting in the dark. Before joining Kindling Chimney Henderson, Renee spent five years as a dispatcher for an HVAC company in the Las Vegas valley, so she knows the difference between a real chimney emergency and a fireplace that can wait until Thursday. She’s also fluent in Spanish, which helps a lot in a city where nearly a third of households speak it at home. Renee is the reason our 24-hour live-answer promise actually works, because she believes a voicemail is just a missed conversation.

Kevin M., Apprentice Technician

Kevin joined us a year ago after spending four summers doing roofing in the heat, which means he’s already used to working on top of houses when the shingles are hot enough to soften shoe soles. He’s training under Marcus on sweeps and basic inspections, and under Olivia on liner prep and crown sealing. Kevin is working toward his CSIA certification and spends his Friday afternoons practicing camera rigging on our training flue at the shop, because running a scope through a 40-year-old clay tile system takes a steadier hand than it looks. He grew up in East Henderson and still lives there, which makes him extra careful to leave every job site cleaner than he found it. His neighbors tend to notice.
