Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
DuraFlex Chimney Inspection in Henderson: What to Know First
DuraFlex chimney inspection in Henderson typically runs $189 – $389 depending on the level of inspection, and most homes are seen within three to five business days. We’re an independent DuraFlex service provider – not affiliated with or authorized by the manufacturer – and we inspect the liner, connectors, and termination exactly as they sit in your flue. Danny Cortes and our crew have worked on DuraFlex liners throughout the Green Valley, Anthem, and MacDonald Ranch neighborhoods, and we’ll tell you honestly whether your liner needs work or can safely wait. If you own a home with a DuraFlex system and want to know what’s actually inside the flue, call (775) 485-5516 for a free estimate.

How DuraFlex Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
DuraFlex makes a solid product, but no liner lasts forever in the Mojave. Here’s what we actually see on inspection jobs in Henderson, model line by model line:
- DuraFlex 316L smooth-wall liners – pitting at the tee connection. The 316L alloy resists corrosion well, but the tee where the liner meets the appliance connector is the weak point on almost every system we inspect. Henderson’s dry air means less acidic condensation than coastal climates, but what condensate does form sits right at the tee. We find pitting and thinning there long before the rest of the liner shows wear. Our fix is a targeted tee replacement or a full tee inspection with camera documentation, so you see the pitting with your own eyes before deciding anything.
- DuraFlex Pro liners – ovalization at the firestop. The Pro liner is tough, but when installers pull it through a tight firestop or an offset in the chase, it can ovalize – flatten slightly out of round. That creates a gap where hot gas can pool against the chase interior. In Henderson homes with tall, straight chases on two-story builds in Inspirada and Cadence, this is more common than installers admit. We check roundness at every transition point with a camera, not just a visual glance from the top.
- DuraFlex SW (single-wall) flex in masonry chimneys – collapsed corrugations from creosote weight. The SW is a light-duty flex liner designed for relining an existing clay tile flue. When a homeowner in Lake Las Vegas burns unseasoned wood or skips a few years of sweeping, creosote builds between the flex walls and the old clay. The weight eventually collapses sections of the corrugations inward. On camera, it looks like a crushed soda can. That’s a full reline in most cases, and we’ll show you the footage before we ever quote a replacement.
- DuraFlex Al29-4C – a nasty surprise nobody knows about. This is the high-grade alloy DuraFlex sells for oil and high-efficiency gas applications. The problem we see in Henderson: homeowners buy a home that was retrofitted years ago, and the original Al29-4C liner was swapped for a cheaper 316L by a contractor to cut costs. The cheaper steel can’t handle the condensate from a high-efficiency gas unit, and it eats through in five to seven years. Part of our DuraFlex inspection is verifying the alloy is actually what the tag says it is. Tags get lost, and assumptions get expensive.
- DuraFlex rain caps and terminations – wind-driven rain penetration at the crown. Henderson gets monsoon bursts in July and August. A poorly sealed termination cap lets water drive into the flue and down the liner exterior. We see rust blooms on the top four feet of liners in Summerlin-adjacent Henderson neighborhoods where caps were installed without a proper storm collar or sealant bead. The fix is simple when caught early: reseal, reposition, and replace the cap if the mesh is rusted out.

Our DuraFlex Chimney Inspection Process
Here’s exactly what happens when you call Kindling Chimney Henderson for a DuraFlex inspection in Henderson:
- 1
We talk it through first. A live person answers at (775) 485-5516. We ask what you’re seeing or smelling, and what kind of fuel you burn. We’ll tell you which inspection level your situation actually calls for – not upsell you into the most expensive one.
- 2
We protect your floors and air. Shoe covers and drop cloths go down before any equipment enters the house. Where there’s a choice, we use pet-safe products. We won’t move furniture without asking, and we keep the door to the firebox closed whenever possible to keep dust out of the living space.
- 3
We inspect with a camera, not just a flashlight. On a DuraFlex system, the camera goes in from the top and from the appliance connection. We’re looking for the specific failure points mentioned above – tee pitting, ovalization, collapsed corrugations, alloy verification, and termination leaks. You can watch the footage in real time and we’ll show you stills.
- 4
We give you a written price before any work starts. That includes parts, labor, and whatever repair or replacement we recommend. No range, no “it depends.” The price you see is the price you pay. If the liner can wait, we’ll tell you that too, and we’ll write down what to watch for.
- 5
We repair or replace only if you authorize it. We use OEM DuraFlex parts when warranty language requires it. Where aftermarket components match or beat OEM spec – connectors, caps, and some storm collars – we’ll present the option and explain the trade-off. Nothing gets done without your go-ahead.
- 6
We clean up and show you the photo. Before the crew leaves, we photograph the work area. It should look the same or better than when we arrived. Our Cedarwell Care Promise covers this on every visit. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise backs the work itself.
What DuraFlex Chimney Inspection Costs in Henderson
Straight numbers, no surprises:
- Level 1 inspection (visual, accessible areas): $189 – $249. This covers a standard annual check when your liner and appliance haven’t changed since the last inspection.
- Level 2 inspection (with camera): $289 – $389. This is the one we recommend for DuraFlex systems more than two years old, after any real estate transaction, or when you’ve had an unusual burn event.
- Level 3 inspection (component removal required): $500+. Rare for DuraFlex, but when a section is suspect, we don’t guess – we verify.
What moves the price: roof access, chase height, whether the liner needs a cleaning before the camera can see clearly, and whether the system is gas or wood. We don’t charge extra for the camera report – it’s part of the inspection. Call (775) 485-5516 and we’ll give you an exact price before anyone steps foot on the property.

AfterWhy Henderson Homeowners Call Kindling Chimney Henderson for DuraFlex Work
Danny Cortes grew up in East Los Angeles and learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before working chimneys across the Southwest. He’s been serving Henderson for several years now, including steady work in the Green Valley neighborhoods where newer homes still run wood-burning fireplaces more often than you’d expect. Danny won’t rush you through the findings. He’ll walk you through what the camera saw and answer questions until you understand your liner’s condition. Our techs are background-checked, uniformed, and trained to follow C.A.R.E. on every job: Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. That means drop cloths, shoe covers, and a photo of the clean-up before we leave. When DuraFlex isn’t the right long-term answer – and sometimes it isn’t – we also work with HeatShield and Gelco systems, so you get the right material for the job, not just the one we happened to stock.
FAQs
No. A professional camera inspection does not void a DuraFlex warranty. In fact, most warranty claims require documentation that the liner was properly installed and maintained. We document everything and give you a written report with stills from the camera. If you ever need to make a claim, the evidence is in your hands.
Yes. We source OEM DuraFlex components directly through authorized distribution, and we keep common parts – tee bodies, connectors, storm collars, and caps – stocked in the truck. When OEM doesn’t make sense, we’ll tell you and show you the aftermarket option side by side. Call (775) 485-5516 and describe what you need; a live person will answer and let you know if it’s on hand.
Every year for wood-burning systems, and every two years for gas. Henderson’s dry climate slows corrosion, but it does nothing for creosote build-up if you burn green or resinous wood. A yearly camera look costs less than $400 and catches pitting, ovalization, and cap leaks before they become a full reline.
No. If the damage is localized – a pitted tee, a rusted cap, a small ovalized section – we repair what needs repairing and tell you the remaining lifespan of the rest. A liner with multiple failure points or alloy contamination is a different story, but we never recommend a full reline without showing you the camera footage first. We’d rather you watch the evidence than take our word for it.
You’re gambling on a metal tube you can’t see. A cracked or pitted liner doesn’t announce itself until heat and combustion gases find a gap. That’s why Danny tells every Henderson homeowner the same thing: know what’s in your flue before you light the first fire of the season. Call (775) 485-5516 and we’ll help you find out.
