Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Stage 3 Creosote Removal in a Lake Las Vegas Fireplace
Before
AfterThe homeowner called after noticing a tar-like smell coming from the fireplace every time the afternoon sun hit the chimney. Our camera inspection showed Stage 3 glazed creosote, the kind that forms when fires burn low and cool. It was shiny, hard, and glued to the flue walls. We used a rotary cleaning head with steel cable whips to break the glaze, then applied a creosote conditioner to convert what remained into a brushable ash. The after photo shows the flue back to clean tile, and the odor was gone the same day. This one took about two and a half hours on site.
Smoke Chamber Clearing in a 1990s Green Valley Ranch Home
Before
AfterThis Green Valley Ranch fireplace hadn’t been swept since the house was built in the mid-1990s. Smoke was rolling back into the living room on windy days, and the homeowner suspected a draft problem. The inspection revealed a different story: the smoke chamber above the damper was so packed with soot and mortar droppings that the smoke had nowhere to go. We cleaned the chamber by hand with wire brushes and a HEPA vacuum, removing roughly three gallons of debris. The after photo shows the corbelled brickwork visible again. Draft restored, no structural repair needed.
Bird Nest and Debris Extraction from a Henderson Chimney
Before
AfterA homeowner in McCullough Hills called us because they heard scratching sounds from the chimney in early spring. The before photo shows what we found: a partially completed nest wedged between the flue tile and the chimney cap, made of twigs, feathers, and what looked like shredded landscape fabric. We removed the nest material, swept the flue, and installed a stainless steel cap with proper animal-guard mesh so birds can’t get back in. The after photo shows the repaired top with full airflow restored. This is one of the most common issues we see in Henderson neighborhoods that back up to open desert, where bird pressure is constant.
Fireplace Facade Soot and Smoke Stain Remediation

This one was cosmetic, but it mattered to the homeowner. Years of fires with the damper only partially open had left a dark smoke stain across the brick face above the firebox. The masonry itself was sound. We cleaned the brick with a poultice designed for soot removal, then swept the flue and adjusted the damper so it opens fully before each burn. The after photo shows clean brick and a properly operating damper. The homeowner told us they’d been thinking about painting over the brick before they saw the difference. They didn’t have to.
Clay Flue Liner Repair After a Chimney Fire Scare

The homeowner in Anthem called after hearing a loud pop from the chimney during a fire. The camera inspection showed a crack running through one clay flue tile. This is a safety issue, not just a cosmetic one, because gaps in the flue can let heat reach combustible framing. We sealed the crack using the HeatShield Cerfractory system, which restores the flue to a smooth, insulated surface without a full liner replacement. The after photo shows the sealed tile from the camera scan. The repair was done in a single visit and the fireplace was back in use that weekend.
Prefab Fireplace Deep Clean in a West Henderson Rental Property

A property manager in West Henderson asked us to clean the fireplace in a rental between tenants. The before photo shows the glass doors coated in a brown film and the refractory panels behind them darkened with soot. Prefab fireplaces have their own cleaning requirements, and we worked carefully around the refractory panels, which can crack if handled too aggressively. We removed the glass, cleaned both sides with a ceramic-safe cleaner, swept the small flue, and vacuumed the firebox. The after photo shows glass you can actually see the fire through. The whole job took under two hours, including setup and cleanup.
